Love-hate relationship between SRK and me in `Don 2`: Priyanka

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra, who is reprising her role of Roma in the upcoming instalment of `Don`, says that even though her mission is to catch Shah Rukh Khan in the film, there is still something which attracts her towards the baddie.

The first instalment of the Farhan Akhtar-directed film, which released five years ago, showed Priyanka falling in love with SRK.

Though she realised that he wasn`t really what he seemed, tables have pretty much turned for the lady who is now on a mission to destroy Don in the second instalment.

"When it comes to Don, there is this really interesting relationship between Roma and him. Her life`s mission is to catch him. Having said that, there is still something strange that draws her towards him. She is angry with him for what she has done to her but it is tough for her to hate him," Priyanka told reporters.

The 29-year-old actress says that the combination of Shah Rukh`s charisma and her revengeful attitude gives birth to a love-hate relationship between the two.

"It is this very combination that makes their relationship exceptionally interesting. There is a love hate relationship between the two of us. While I am forever angry, he is always oh-so-charming," she said.

The 2006 film`s music charmed listeners and the dance number `Aaj Ki Raat` is played till date. `Don 2` hasn`t been able to weave the same magic yet music-wise but Priyanka has no regrets.

"`Don 2` is a very fast paced movie and there is no place for songs.

The ones that you even see in the film are those that are really required in the film. Farhan was sure that he didn`t want to move away from the essence of `Don`. It is easy to just go ahead and copy what has been made earlier but then `Don 2` is not `Don`. This is a cool stylish action film and much more than just `Aaj Ki Raat`."

Ever since the beginning of the year, `Don 2` has been touted as one of the most awaited films of the year, and Priyanka says, just like every other film of hers, she is under stress this time around too.

"Of course it is scary but then it isn`t just for `Don 2` though. I have the same feeling and stress for every film of mine. I always keep thinking whether people would like my film or not, whether I would impress them or not, etc. Still, I can definitely say though that if people liked `Don`, they would definitely love `Don 2`."

I am not a romantic: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is the king of romance. Love isn't as romantic unless SRK doesn't look into the eyes of his heroine and sings a song, as he spreads his arms.

SRK epitomizes romance. Girls go weak in the knees every time he goes down on his and proposes to his lady love.

The superstar however denies being a romantic!

"I know I am known for my portrayals of Raj and Rahuls but I am not a romantic at all. I am shy with women. I've always wanted to play the 'bad guy' roles. I did play them in Baazigar and Darr. I want to do it more and Don has come along at the right time. I am not at all like Don in real life but its fun to play characters that are not at all like you. As an actor that thrills you" said Shah Rukh while promoting Don 2.

He added "Don is everything every guy wants to be but never gets to be. He has fast cars, faster women. The second installment of Don is leaner, meaner and sexier."

The highly awaited Don 2 releases this Friday worldwide. Dec 23rd 2011.

SRK-starrer Don 2 earns 37 crores already!

We guess nothing sells like Shah Rukh Khan. The actor, whose film Don 2 is set for a Christmas release, has started raking in the money already, or so we hear.

This Farhan Akhtar directed motion picture has sold its satellite rights for a whopping 37 crores, inform trade sources. It's Zee TV who has bought the satellite rights for this movie.

Apparently, this is one of the biggest satellite deals to take place in the history of Indian cinema. It's the hype of the movie along with the success of it's predecessor that has helped it in scoring this big one at the box office.

It looks like the producers have already started their walk to the bank, smiling.

Making sequel of Don has been extremely satisfying journey - Farhan Akhtar

Actor-director Farhan Akhtar is ready with his sequel to the runaway hit Don. Shah Rukh Khan reprises the role in Don 2, which is to hit the screens next month. In an interview, Farhan talks about why it took so long to come up with the sequel, converting the film into 3D and the problem of piracy. Excerpts:

Why did it take you five long years to return with the sequel to Don (2006)?

It has been a challenging and extremely satisfying journey to make a sequel to Don. I was guilty of declaring that in all probability I would not make a sequel to Don. But when I shared my vision with Ritesh Sidhwani, the producer of Don 2, and Shah Rukh, I found I could conceive of the sequel. I hope it works.

Do you think SRK didn't give much importance to promoting Don 2?
It is rightly said that Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai (It's not only difficult to catch hold of Don but also impossible) (laughs). Unfortunately, he couldn't be with us for the promo launch as he was away in Dubai for the premiere of his home production Ra.One.

Whose idea was it to make Shah Rukh's voice sound huskier in Don 2?
The manner in which he wanted to speak his lines was completely Shah Rukh's take.

Why have you decided to make the film in 3D?
The film is not shot with the 3D camera. But when we saw that there was a possibility to make it into 3D, we gave it a shot. The people at Reliance made a demo and it looked good. Technology has advanced. It is great to watch the film in 3D as well.

Why did the 3D idea not occur to you while shooting Don 2?
Maybe I should have thought of it a bit earlier. The conversion of a 2D film into 3D happened when we started shooting. Before it was not so common.

How different is Don 2 from Don?
It is a new story and he plays a different role in Don 2. It is a further development of the character.

Isha Koppikar is not seen in Don 2. Is there any reason for dropping her?
Not just Isha Koppikar's character, there are quite a few others too who are not seen in the sequel. It's simple; the script didn't demand those characters.

The posters of Don 2 say the ‘King is back'. Do you think Shah Rukh is the King of Bollywood as well?
He is the king of this film. When we say ‘the king is back', we are referring to the character; and not alluding to the King of Bollywood. When I was writing the script of Don, I had Shah Rukh in my mind. He liked it so I got what I wanted.

Piracy has become the staple before the release of a film. How nervous are you prior to Don 2?
I am scared of piracy — and it is not just me, it's the case with all the producers and directors. We are working with people whom we trust. But at the end of the day, one can't predict ... piracy can happen. I hope that the content of the film does not get leaked before its release. I appeal to people to ignore the pirated version even after the film's release.

You had consulted Salim Khan for Don. Did you consult him this time too for the story?
I sought his permission to make a sequel. I had told him that some of the characters and people will not be there in the sequel and he was okay with it. He was happy andwished me luck.

The dialogue of Don “Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi namumkin hai” became very famous. Can we expect more of this?
There are other lines that will add spice to the film. There was a lot of emphasis on drama and action in the first part — we have maintained that.

Exhausted with stunts, Shahrukh desires to do a romantic film now

Gurgaon, Sep 23: Shahrukh Khan says, he is tired and intends to do a love story now, after smashing cars and performing sleek stunts in two of his upcoming films ‘Ra.One’ and ‘Don 2′.

The 45-year-old actor has had a physically irksome time while shooting for his home production ‘Ra.One’, in which he plays a superhero. The continuation of Farhan Akhtar-directed ‘Don’ will see him reprise his role as the dreaded mafia king.

Shahrukh said at the Global Indian Music Award’s red carpet, “I had to work hard to physically train myself to perform the stunts and now I am running around promoting ‘Ra.One’. I am tired and have had enough of stunts. I want to star in a sweet romantic film now”.

And obviously, King Khan’s aspiration has already been settled as Yashraj films are set to make a romantic movie with him and Katrina Kaif.

But Shahrukh dodged questions about his possible co-star, who was reportedly his arch-rival Salman Khan’s girlfriend.

While asked who would he prefer to do a romantic movie with, SRK said, “I don’t cast my heroines; it is done by the directors and producers.”

Don 2 trailer!! A must watch!!

Hi friends .. check Don2 trailer....:)

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy booted out of Dharma Productions?

While DK Bose composer Ram Sampath replaced S-E-L in Excel Entertainment, we now hear that the music composer duo Ajay-Atul has replaced the trio in Agneepath

We had seen this coming, especially after we heard the disappointing soundtrack of Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, but this soon? No! For a very long time, S-E-L have saved their best tunes for their two most favourite production houses: Farhan Ahtar’s Excel Entertainment and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. But unfortunately they have been replaced by others in both companies. We are not entirely sure about the reason for the ouster, but it is indeed very sad to see that the talented triumvirate is being left out, despite their amazing record with chartbusters in recent times. We smelt something fishy when Karan Johar didn’t show up at the trio’s 15th anniversary celebration. Well, we just hope these recent developments don’t lead to a fall-out, as the rumours doing the rounds have told us. When we spoke to Ram Sampath about him replacing S-E-L in an Excel Entertainment film, he said, “I haven’t replaced anyone in Reema Kagti’s film. She was looking for a music director and Aamir Khan recommended me to her. Aamir, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani (the producers) left the casting choice entirely to Reema.” We are only hoping that the success of Shahrukh Khan’s Don 2 brings the trio back into business.
