Salman Khan's 'Dabangg 2' will overpower 'Ek Tha Tiger'?

On his birthday, astro-numerologist predicts that from Salman Khan's upcoming films in 2012, 'Dabangg 2' will be a step ahead of 'Ek Tha Tiger'.

He may have done some serious wrongs in his real life in the past, but nothing can take away from the fact that people are just 'Ready' to accept the 'Dabangg' man in any avatar. On the eve of his birthday, we ask astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi to find out what's in store for Salman Khan - the most charismatic star of Bollywood for the upcoming year 2012.

"Salman was born on 27th December 1965 which makes him a Number 9 ( Mars) person in numerology. He is a Capricorn (ruler Saturn - Number 8) and his destiny number adds up to Number 6 (Venus)", explains Bhavikk.

"Being ruled by Number 9, Salman is a tough nut to crack. He is firm with his decisions but can get impulsive at times which he should be wary of. Being ruled by Number 8 (Saturn) he has knowingly or unknowingly put himself in trouble most of the times and been there at the wrong side of the law. But this is the same 'shani' which has given him tremendous success, popularity and love of the people all around the world. With the right balance of mind and looking at things more rationally, he can actually improve his personal life more as Number 6 (Venus) indicates a good marriage life and his family loving nature", explains Bhavikk.

"The coming year 2012 adds up to Number 5 (Mercury) and Salman will be entering in his 47th year which indicates unnecessary delays in his life whatsoever", predicts Bhavikk. "His work assignments may not get complete on time and schedules might go haywire sometimes due to his fault and at times due to other technical reasons as well. Even his love life will remain more or less dry with no sign of concrete relationship happening anytime soon"

"But on the film front, his next release ' Ek Tha Tiger' in the Eid of 2012 would prove to be a profitable venture as the film title (sums up to Number 32) vibrates well with the year 2012. However Number 5 is usually not lucky for Number 9 people and hence the film may not be able to exceed the collections of ' Dabangg 2' which will turn out to be a 'bigger hit' in comparison when it comes to pure box office figures", signs off Bhavikk on a clear cut note.

Aamir Khan delays Ek Tha Tiger's release

Salman Khan will now have more time in hand to work on Ek Tha Tiger as its release date has been postponed.

"News Break: Yash Raj's @BeingSalmanKhan starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger', which was scheduled for 1 June 2012 release, will now release on Eid 2012," movie expert Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Wonder why the release was delayed? Perhaps, Aamir did not want to take the risk of clashing with 'Dabangg' Khan. According to Adarsh, Aamir requested Salman and Aditya Chopra to shift Ek Tha Tiger's release date and they relented.

"Since Aamir wanted to release his next film, directed by Reema Kagti, on 1 June, he requested Salman & Adi Chopra to shift Ek Tha Tiger, tweeted Adarsh.

While Katrina Kaif is paired opposite Salman in Ek Tha Tiger, Rani Mukherjee would be romancing Aamir in Reema Kagti's Dhuaan. Which one are you planning to watch?

Katrina Kaif turns singer for Dhoom 3

Katrina Kaif's dream of taking her mother, brother and sisters on a long vacation has to be put on hold for the time being.

After completing the current schedule of Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin, the actress will have to start preparing for her character in Dhoom 3 in the month that she had kept aside for her family holiday.

According to sources, Katrina has received an urgent return-to-duty call from Yashraj Films to not just learn some heavy-duty stunts but also exercise her vocal cords for her role in the sequel to Dhoom.

The actress will need to undertake para gliding lessons and a full-fledged singing course for the project. "Katrina has to go one up on the last Dhoom heroine Aishwarya Rai. That's a tall order in itself," informed a source.

Katrina, who had been planning to sing for Ali Zaqfar's album has yet been uninitiated into the realm of music. This will be the first time Katrina will sing for herself in a film.

Apart from the singing, Katrina it seems has a lot of pending work for the same film. She will need to discuss with Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya about the look, body language, spoken language and attitude of her character in the project.

In fact, the singing portions of her character are now being worked out, waiting for Katrina to come down and lend her voice. Katrina remained unavailable for comment.

Katrina: No trouble on Ek Tha Tiger sets

Recent reports suggested that there was union trouble for the unit of Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger while shooting at an outdoor location in Dublin.

The film's heroine Katrina Kaif denies this. "This is the first time I am hearing of this. What trouble? Which workers' strike? We've been shooting here uninterrupted since we arrived. There's been absolutely no disturbance of any kind. In fact, the local people here are very supportive. They go out of their way to make us feel at home," she says.

The only sore point, if any, is that Katrina is shooting during the night.

"I am unable to keep in touch with anyone back home because I am asleep during the day," she says.

Yet, she tries to keep tabs on the collections of her last release Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. "Imran (Khan), Ali (Zafar) and I had so much fun shooting it. It was one of the most enjoyable shootings of my life. We'd do a shot and then laugh over it for hours."

The idea of a Mere Brother… sequel has been put forward. If it materializes, Katrina is game for it.

Salman Khan is doing fine, confirms Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif's and Salman Khan's relationship has occupied enough newspaper and magazine column inches in the past few years to launch an encyclopedia edition of its own.

And the fodder refuses to die down, what with Kaif herself confirming Khan is back in the pink of health after his eight-hour surgery in New Jersey, which saw the superstar struggle with the nerve disorder, Trigeminal Neuralgia.

She said: "Salman Khan is doing fine and he and I will start shooting together on September 11 for Kabir Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger". The schedule will go ahead as planned."

The actress dropped this nugget whilst in Abu Dhabi on September 7 for the world premiere of her film, "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan", which goes on general release across UAE cinemas today.

Kaif continued to sing praises about Abu Dhabi, saying that the city's phenomenal growth continues to amaze her; much like her meteoric career rise that continues to stun her critics.

"I have shot several of my earlier films in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but the latter continues to be a second home to me," said the "Race" actress, who incidentally shot parts of that movie in our backyard.

The natural progression for her love affair with the city would be investing in a home here. Quiz her, and Kaif doesn't toss the idea out.

She said: "I am not averse to the idea of investing in a house here, but it's a bit too soon for me to make such plans. My career takes up the bulk of my time, but never say never."

Kaif is riding high this year with the success of her film, "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", with early reports of her latest also painting her in positive light.

"I can't say if this is my year, but I will say that I have been lucky with my film choices and I do hope my upcoming films perform just as well," comes the diplomatic response.

Kaif's kitty offers up prestigious projects, including a triple whammy with production house Yash Raj Films, which will see the actress star in "Ek Tha Tiger" after "Mere Brother...", followed by the yet untitled film directed by head honcho Yash Chopra himself.

"I didn't set out to sign on only Yash Raj films, but sometimes things work that way and in this instance, Kabir Khan is someone who I worked with on "New York" and we became great friends. When he approached me with "Ek Tha Tiger", I couldn't say no.

"Salman and Kabir had their own equation, which is why he opted to do the film," she explained, despite us not asking Khan's motives behind accepting his first YRF production.

Kaif added: "The third film sees Mr Chopra return to direction after a seven-year hiatus and I simply jumped at the chance. Plus, I'm starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, with whom I have never worked; so I am extremely excited by the project."

With one of India's top production houses signing her up for every big project, to a layman, Kaif certainly seems to have taken the lead in the Bollywood numbers game. But the actress doesn't want to be associated with competition.

"Who has time or the need to be bothered by numbers?" she counterasks. "I come to do a job and do it well; if I have some top films, so do other stars. I think all of us are secure in our own space."

So no need for added publicity or generating a buzz through social media platforms such as Twitter, which seems to be the norm these days with most Bollywood types?

"No, social media isn't for me," she confessed. "I don't need any added publicity and frankly, why take on something that I am not inclined to? Social media works for some, but I prefer to switch off with the camera."

Katrina and Kareena worry about Salman

One may be an ex-girlfriend, the other is a present co-star, but both Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are concerned about friend/co-star Salman Khan

Bodyguard is making a lot of noise all over the country, with BO registers ringing up profits like mad, never mind that the critics are panning the film – but the hero is not here to experience the high. Salman Khan has left for the United States, to get his trigeminal neuralgia treated by experts. And his lady friends are a little sad about his absence, though they are understandably worried. Kareena has been left holding the baby that is Bodyguard for a while, and Katrina…well…we can never be sure what she is holding where Salman is concerned, but their friendship cannot be doubted. Kat has made her new project with Sallu top priority, refusing plum assignments to accommodate Ek Tha Tiger. We hear that these include Dhoom:3 with Aamir Khan and the gang, and Ayaan Mukherjee’s new one co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. And since the Yash Chopra film with Shahrukh Khan will happen only next year, Katrina has time to do her thing with Salman, whenever she is needed to. And the concern is obvious, the strain is showing, people say, since she is worrying so much about her man-friend that her face cannot show off the happy-fun mood that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan promotional activities need. Now that is friendship, no?
