Katrina is a stupendous actor: Shah Rukh Khan

Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who will be sharing screen space with Katrina Kaif in their maiden romantic film by Yash Chopra, says that his co-star is a stupendous actor and he even tried to adapt himself to her work approach.

After a gap of eight years, Yash Chopra has returned to direction with this untitled film, which also stars Anushka Sharma. The shoot has begun in February this year in London.

“I got to shoot with Katrina Kaif for the first time, which was wonderful. I do a couple of films a year and I haven’t worked with her. I think she is a stupendous actor. Everyone says about her being hardworking and very talented. It’s more important how we work together,.. how we work as a team,” said Shah Rukh.

The model-turned-actress has been in Bollywood since nine years and all those who have worked with her have always praised her. ”When I work with a lot of young actors, I learn a lot as they have a different way of doing scenes. I have worked now for 21 years, they have been working for 10 years. When Katrina is doing a scene, she has a different way of approaching it… and when she approaches it differently, as a co-actor I also try to think if she is doing it differently, there must be a reason so let me also try it and adapt myself to do it differently. So that give and take has been absolutely fantastic,” Khan said.

Apparently, it was on Katrina’s birthday few years back that both Shah Rukh and Salman had a fallout. And now Katrina is working with both Khans — Salman and SRK — under the Yash Raj banner films.

SRK’s association with Yash Raj Films has been long and they have together given many hit movies like Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and many more.

It`s arranged marriage for Katrina Kaif

Well…this news is going to break a number of hearts for sure! Katrina Kaif has made up her mind to get married to the person of her mother’s choice.

The hottie, who was earlier in love with her mentor Salman Khan, was also allegedly in a relationship with her ‘Raajneeti’ co-star Ranbir Kapoor. But the pretty girl seems to have had enough of the men from the Tinsel Town.

According to a leading tabloid, Katrina has indeed asked her mother to look for a suitable match for her.
Talking to the tabloid, a friend of the actress said, “Katrina has told her mother to find her a guy. She has decided to go with whatever `momma says`.”
Apparently, Katrina was not surprised when rumours of her reconciliation with Ranbir Kapoor started doing the rounds recently. And in order to clear the air, the actress came up with this decision of hers.
“Katrina is done with Ranbir. She didn`t want to spend time with him and that`s why decided to opt out of Ayaan Mukerji`s film. In fact, Katrina will not consider offers to be cast opposite Ranbir in the near future,” the friend of the actress added.

According to Katrina’s friend, the actress is in no mood to date anyone from the industry anymore. She is looking for a non-Bollywood person to play her real life partner.

“No looking for or falling in love in the film industry for Katrina. She has learnt the hard way that love is a rare commodity in the industry. She wants to avoid any more emotional stress in the future and just focus on her work. No emotional involvement with co-stars, no matter what the temptation," said the friend.

If you have really made up you mind for an arranged marriage, we are with you girl.

Here’s wishing you all the very best. May you get the best guy in the world!kat

Bollywood Katrina Kaif to romance Rajinikanth?

Katrina Kaif will soon join ranks with Aishwarya and Deepika by romancing Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth on screen. The actor is said to have said yes for Kochadaiyaan.

"It's true. We were very keen on Katrina. Two superstars together from the South and the North would create magic," a very important member of the film's production team revealed to Mumbai Mirror.

"We've been negotiating with her for some time. She is shooting for Yash Chopra, and has assured us of her dates in the next few months," the source was quoted by the tabloid as saying.

"Yes, we are indeed in talks with Katrina and we will let you know soon," confirmed Soundarya to the daily.

Tackling the date trouble

Though it was not easy for Katrina to make space in her date diary, she managed to take out time for Rajini in between her tight schedule for Ek Tha Tiger and SRK's film.

"Katrina, who is busy shooting two back-to-back Yash Raj films - Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan, and an untitled one with Shah Rukh Khan - will accommodate Rajinikanth's dates in between her tight schedule. All other portions of the film have been shot, and only the ones with Katrina remain. Her dates will be worked out soon, and the film will then be complete," a member of the unit told the tabloid.

About Kochadaiyaan

"In Kochadaiyaan, Rajinikanth plays a king, a devotee of Lord Shiva. His love story with Katrina, their songs, will be shot on an epic scale," disclosed a source to the daily.

The film will also have a love song between Rajini and Kat. "Rahman is bringing 130 musicians from Germany to record the background score," the source further revealed.

Chikni Chameli gets 3.8 million views within a week!

After taking the country by storm with "Sheila Ki Jawani", Katrina's latest item track "Chikni Chameli" is already creating records of sorts! The song from "Angeepath" which is a remake of the 1900 cult "Agneepath", figures in the original film.

The remake-song that was shot over 10-days is already become a rage as viewers can't have enough of Katrina's gyrating moves and sensual expressions. Choreographed by celeb choreographer Ganesh Acharya, the song features Kaif dressed in the traditional garb of a fisherwoman, gyrating to the high-tempo song. Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and composed by national awardee-duo Ajay and Atul, the song is the Hindi version of their own Marathi hit "Kombadi Palali". A 30-second promo of the song was first launched by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, followed by a two minutes thirteen seconds-long video on YouTube. The latter has already garnered 3.8 million hits on YouTube within a week of its release.

The item track has been drawing compliments from all over. Recently Shobhaa De tweeted on Karan Johar's twitter account, saying, "2012:The Year of Chikni Chameli and Katrina K.Just watched the hottest moves n Bollywood.Ooh la la looks like ringa-ringa-roses.Watch out VB". Film critic Rajeev Masand too tweeted, "Watched the Chikni Chameli item song from Agneepath today. Boy, that Katrina can move, and how! At one point she even dangles off the roof!"

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the remake that stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Rishi Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, will hit screens worldwide on January 26, 2012.

Katrina Kaif's Chikni Chameli mystery

Okay, after all the praise for the Chikni Chameli has gone to Katrina Kaif and choreographer Ganesh, can we have a round of applause for the first time director Karan Malhotra?

A little birdie tells us, "He was very clear of what exactly he wanted. Down to every expression and move. Before this Kat's dance numbers had the gyrations and the grinds but her face was blank.

But Karan wanted to change that. And till he didn't get it right, he didn't okay the shot. Even if that meant 18 takes!" So now the mystery behind Kat's sizzling expressions is finally solved.

Move over 'Sheila', 'Chikni chameli' is here

Katrina Kaif can move, and how! The Britain-born actress might have taken time in perfecting her Hindi accent, but Bollywood's latka-jhatkas is something she has mastered, and proves with her latest item song "Chikni chameli".

Industry members are smitten with the song. They feel it will definitely be a USP of Karan Johar's remake of his father's classic "Agneepath", and overshadow "Munni", "Sheila", "Shalu" and "Jalebi bai" item numbers.

Composed by national award-winning duo Ajay-Atul, the spicy song, sung by Shreya Ghoshal, is the Hindi version of their own Marathi hit "Kombadi palali".

The lyrics of the number, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, are as cheesy as they could get, but the rhythm is extremely peppy and catchy. And Katrina's vigourous moves and sensual expressions, choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, go in total sync.

The 26-year-old had set a benchmark with "Sheila ki jawaani" last year, but with this song, she has surpassed it with her killer desi look.

"Agneepath" director Karan Malhotra is all smiles and believes Katrina has done full justice to the song.

"I think the way the song was made, it was so wonderful, that only a topmost actress could have done justice to the song. And as far as Katrina is concerned, her USP is that she has never been seen in any film in that kind of zone that 'Chikni chameli' is in...which is why she also stands out in that atmosphere and that is why the song is catching a lot of eyeballs," Malhotra said at the music premiere of "Agneepath".

As much as he avoids talking in media about Katrina, even Salman Khan, her former beau, couldn't stop raving about the song.

"I love the song! I saw it a few days back and I am completely smitten by it. A lot of hard work has gone behind it and it is visible on the screen. Hats off to Katrina. She has come a long way," Salman said at a recent event in Mumbai.

A 30-second promo of the song was first launched, followed by an over two minutes-long video on YouTube. The video has registered over 3 million hits so far, and producer Karan Johar is ecstatic.

"The nation is singing and dancing to 'Chikni chameli', so I am really excited about it. It is already an established big hit song," Johar said.

According to Atul Gogavale, "Katrina spent eight days in rehearsal before starting to shoot the song. It took nine days to finish the shoot, and her energy levels never saw a dip."

"This song has a very high tempo and requires speed in steps. Even if I or someone else wants to dance to it, you cannot match up to the tempo for more than two minutes. But Katrina just took it to another level. She has left us speechless," he said.

Celebrities from the film fraternity feel Katrina has raised the bar of item numbers with her energetic dance steps.

Writer Milap Zaveri tweeted: "Katrina's dance steps in 'Chikni Chameli' are too brilliant and energetic! But there should be a disclaimer saying 'Don't try this at home!'"

"'Chikni chameli' from 'Agneepath' is just outstanding. I have never seen an actress dance like Katrina does - she raises the bar to another level," tweeted Ritesh Deshmukh, who recommended Ajay-Atul as composers for the film.

Even choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, who has choreographed item numbers like "Kajra re" says she is in awe of Katrina's effort.

"Katrina is looking very good in 'Chikni Chameli' and I told Karan (Johar) about it. I really loved it and whenever Katrina comes and does a song like this, you know what the effect is," she said.

The action-drama slated for a Jan 26, 2012 release, features Hrithik Roshan as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, originally played by megastar Amitabh Bachchan in Chandan Barot's directorial venture of the same name.

Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor will also be seen in key roles in the movie.

The audience has been bowled over by Katrina’s racy item song from Agneepath. Here is the full video of Katrina Kaif’s hottest item song ‘Chikni Chameli’.

Katrina puts to shade the gyrations of Sheila Ki Jawani with her spirited bump and grind in this racy item song Chikni Chameli that has her dressed as a Maharashtrian girl and dancing with abandon in a group of ruffians.

She hangs by a chandelier, lights a match by a mere rub on her chikn body and flaunts a pahua (a quarter) on her patli kamar. Welcome the hottest item of the season: Katrina Kaif as ‘Chikni Chameli’ in Agneepath.

What’s your verdict of sensuous Katrina Kaif’s fatal gyrations. Is she looking fabulous with terrific dance moves or did she fail to impress you? And what about the song, is it going to make your playlist or will you give it a miss?

Katrina Kaif replaces Rani as Aditya Chopra's favourite

Everyone knows that in Bollywood, it is the heroes who call the shots. The leading ladies are just incidental to the plot.

So when one of B-Town's most powerful production houses signs an actress for three big projects, it is definitely time for the competition to sit up and take notice. Not only is Katrina Kaif doing three films for Aditya Chopra's home production, she has been paired opposite the top three Khans.

While Kareena Kapoor has already worked with Salman, Aamir and Shah Rukh, they were all projects with different production houses. Clearly, Chopra's production house has never put so much faith in one actress. In fact, they've rarely repeated their leading ladies (barring Rani Mukerji), and often work with the No 1 actress of the time before moving on to the next big star. Rekha acted in Silsila (1981), Juhi in Darr (1993), and Madhuri Dixit in Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997).

Interestingly, Kat has already worked with the banner twice - in New York (2009) and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). Although she has worked with Salman in many films; come 2012, she begins Dhoom 3 with Aamir and an untitled film with Shah Rukh for the first time. The trade is abuzz with the news of how the actress, who has hit it off with Adi, has replaced Rani as the new favourite of the banner.

Katrina makes light of the fact that next year she will have three releases with the Khan triumvirate. "I am just grateful to be working with such big directors and stars. I believe that the success of a film is in the hands of destiny. I look at it as a job where I have to give the best that I can. I have always learned something from every actor I have worked with, so I hope to learn from Shah Rukh and Aamir too."

Trade analyst Vikas Mohan rubbishes whispers of Katrina's friendship with Adi Chopra behind her three-film lottery, saying, "Kat was seen as the reason behind Mere Brother Ki Dulhan's success. She was the calling card of the film. Promotional strategies were planned around her and she pulled it off. She cemented her position in the industry, that's why she is the only actress who has signed three films with Aditya." The amount of money the banner has riding on her is mind-boggling. Adds Mohan, "On paper, all three films have approximately 200 crore riding on them."

A spokesperson for the production house says, "The decision to have Katrina in three films was made on the basis of only one parameter - the script - followed by the director's vision. Katrina was always the director's first choice for two of those three films."

Another trade analyst Vajir Singh adds, "She was known as a non-actress, but with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, Rajneeti and New York, Kat proved she can act. For Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, she went all out to promote it like a hero."

We wonder what Rani has to say about all this, eh?

Katrina Kaif turns singer for Dhoom 3

Katrina Kaif's dream of taking her mother, brother and sisters on a long vacation has to be put on hold for the time being.

After completing the current schedule of Ek Tha Tiger in Dublin, the actress will have to start preparing for her character in Dhoom 3 in the month that she had kept aside for her family holiday.

According to sources, Katrina has received an urgent return-to-duty call from Yashraj Films to not just learn some heavy-duty stunts but also exercise her vocal cords for her role in the sequel to Dhoom.

The actress will need to undertake para gliding lessons and a full-fledged singing course for the project. "Katrina has to go one up on the last Dhoom heroine Aishwarya Rai. That's a tall order in itself," informed a source.

Katrina, who had been planning to sing for Ali Zaqfar's album has yet been uninitiated into the realm of music. This will be the first time Katrina will sing for herself in a film.

Apart from the singing, Katrina it seems has a lot of pending work for the same film. She will need to discuss with Aditya Chopra and director Vijay Krishna Acharya about the look, body language, spoken language and attitude of her character in the project.

In fact, the singing portions of her character are now being worked out, waiting for Katrina to come down and lend her voice. Katrina remained unavailable for comment.

Katrina Kaif prefers to stay mum

After putting to rest speculation about will-she-or-will-she-won’t star in Dhoom 3, by confirming her role, actor Katrina Kaif finds herself in yet another series of speculations. This time whether she will don the bikini or not and also whether she will agree to the kissing scenes or not? But Katrina prefers not to be dragged into this whirlwind. Whether it’s speculation about her personal life or professional, Kat chooses not to get into a clarifications zone, preferring to keep mum.

“As actors our lives are out there for the public to see. And I have realised that no matter how much one clarifies, there’ll always be speculation, if not one thing then the next. To what extent does one clarify?” she quips. While she chooses not to talk about her personal life at all, she lets the filmmakers talk about her role. “I think it’s right for them to make the required announcements,” she says.

The actor who’s at present shooting in Dublin also says that as an actor, she is ready to give her best that’s required for the role. “Well, I didn’t know scuba diving or deep-sea diving, but I did do it for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. But it wasn’t something you plan in advance. If a role requiresme to do something and if I are convinced then I’d just do it. But what’s equally important for me is to feel that I can trust the filmmaker,” explains Katrina.

The actor’s recent successes have her smiling already, and though Katrina says that hits are always nice to have, her only aim really is to do films that would take her a step further as an actor. “I want to try new genres, push my limit as an actor and surprise myself too,” she smiles.

Katrina: No trouble on Ek Tha Tiger sets

Recent reports suggested that there was union trouble for the unit of Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger while shooting at an outdoor location in Dublin.

The film's heroine Katrina Kaif denies this. "This is the first time I am hearing of this. What trouble? Which workers' strike? We've been shooting here uninterrupted since we arrived. There's been absolutely no disturbance of any kind. In fact, the local people here are very supportive. They go out of their way to make us feel at home," she says.

The only sore point, if any, is that Katrina is shooting during the night.

"I am unable to keep in touch with anyone back home because I am asleep during the day," she says.

Yet, she tries to keep tabs on the collections of her last release Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. "Imran (Khan), Ali (Zafar) and I had so much fun shooting it. It was one of the most enjoyable shootings of my life. We'd do a shot and then laugh over it for hours."

The idea of a Mere Brother… sequel has been put forward. If it materializes, Katrina is game for it.

Katrina's no-bikini clause accepted

Katrina Kaif has agreed to be the part of Aditya Chopra's Dhoom 3, but only on one condition. The actor has made it clear to the director that she won't sport a bikini in the YRF movie opposite Aamir Khan.

Looks like Doom would be Katrina's first and last movie in which she donned a two piece.

But the Chopra scion didn't relent to the actor's demand so easily.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Aditya is very fond of Katrina and they are very good friends. He had other options, including a few foreign actresses, but Katrina towered above all those options. Katrina managed to convince Aditya that it was not necessary for her to wear a bikini in the film.”

And why not! Katrina has come a long way since her debut disaster Boom.

Katrina turns to Salman for help

Katrina, whose recent outing ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ is running successfully all over, was initially miffed with the makers during the premiere of the film in London.
It’s reported that the actress couldn’t reach the hotel before the premiere, so she had to get help from ex-flame Salman.

Katrina, who seems to be in the good books of Salman even after their break up, was relieved when the actor saved her day in spite of the last minute confusion.

Katrina’s unhappy with Yash Raj Films
It’s learnt that Katrina apparently got irritated with the situation ever since the cab driver that Yash Raj Films had arranged for her didn’t know the route to the hotel that had been reserved for her.

The driver had supposedly driven around the city for one hour without reaching the hotel.

Speaking about Katrina’s disappointment with the makers, a source stated that the actress then sought Salman’s help by asking the actor to arrange a vehicle for her to go to the premiere.

“The driver of the car organised for her by Yash Raj Films turned out to be a novice who didn't know the roads well enough. After being driven around for an hour and a half, Katrina got so irritated that she called for a taxi service. And while waiting for the other cab to arrive.

“She also called Salman to apprise him of her situation. But Katrina had had enough and she was so upset that she didn't want to use any transport being arranged by YRF for her to get to the premiere venue,” stated a source.

Salman may not act in Rajinikanth’s biopic
It seems like Rajnikanth’s family has not taken down well the fact that Salman’s next film is based on the thespian’s real life story.

Ever since Atul Agnihotri wanted to do a biopic on Rajnikanth with Salman essaying the role of the Kollywood superstar, the actor’s family is quite disappointed with the development.

When a source was quizzed whether Salman would do the biopic a source stated, “Though Salman has been denying all these reports, the buzz doing the rounds is that Atul is really interested in making a biopic on the superstar's life. The biopic will trace the superstar’s stardom and his entire life will be up there on the screen.”

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan - Katrina puts the Dull in Dulhan

While films need scripts to work, in a genre like the romantic comedy, you already know that you didn't exactly come in expecting the smartest script ever written. You are there because you are a sucker for romance and you want to live vicariously through the beautiful people on screen. You are there to watch them share an electric chemistry, fall in love / fall back in love and fight the odds together. You already know that in a romantic comedy template — boy meets girl, boy loves girl, boy gets girl. What makes the ride to that ending interesting is the journey of how they got there, the people who are giving you company during this trip you've taken a hundred times before, with probably better looking people saying something smart or funny.

You are not going to get a Notting Hill or My Best Friend's Wedding every time and certainly not from this Yash Raj Films offering that even sounds like a film they already made (Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai) and a poster that reminds you of another Katrina Kaif film (Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani). In fact, everything in this film will give you a sense of deja vu of scenes you've seen before — be it from Onir's Sorry Bhai or Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. But even all that can be forgiven if you love the leads.

Katrina, as gorgeous as she may look, is not the best actress around. Given the responsibility of carrying the entire film on her shoulders, Katrina is severely exposed. Playing the loud, bubbly, rebel without a cause needs more than a Katrina in the shortest of skirts and cartoonish outbursts.

The boys are all right. While Imran Khan plays the same role he did in I Hate Luv Storyies (an assistant director who hates the larger-than-life aspects of cinema), Ali Zafar in an extended cameo works his presence and ends up the most likeable of the three. Newbie Tara D'Souza is just put there to make Katrina look like an actress.

The good news is that the film stays clear of drama with a subject like this (falling for your brother's bride) and while that in itself is an encouraging sign from Yash Raj Films, the bad news is that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan has zero drama to deal with. Absolutely no surprises once the filmmaker brother plots to re-script his love story by manipulating the players — his brother, the families, the ex-girlfriend, etc.

But how long can you keep chuckling that absolutely everything is going as per plan. There's a specific reason why robberies never go the way they are planned in heist films because if they did, the film would be over by the end of the first act. MBKD takes a while to get going before arriving at the plan. And once the plan is in play, absolutely nothing goes wrong. Just some binging on bhang, item songs (that Madhubala song scored by Sohail Sen and the aftermath is simply the best part of the film), disguises for no reason (as the makers resort to pop culture references to bide time) before the inevitable.

It's all too light to leave any impact, a prank best caught on TV.

And for a romance film, it makes you fall out of love with Katrina.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

Genre: Romantic Comedy

Director: Ali Abbas Zafar

Cast: Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ali Zafar, Tara D'Souza

Storyline: An assistant director falls in love with his brother's bride and has to rewrite the script to facilitate a happy ending for himself.

Bottomline: A barely watchable film that comes with no surprises whatsoever.

Mere Brother is Dulhan : Movie Rewiew

Story: Londonstani Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar) has just had a break-up with his long-time girlfriend. Unable to bear the heartbreak, he asks his brother Kush (Imran Khan) to find a nice desi bride for him and arrange his marriage, pronto. Kush settles for wild cat Dimple (Katrina Kaif), his college friend, only to realise that he's the one who is actually losing his heart to the bindaas babe. Will it be too late before love prevails....

Movie Review: They make a completely unusual pair and are a study in contrast, Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif. While Imran is a picture of restraint and low key dramatics as the younger brother who falls in love with his bhaisaheb's fiancee, Katrina essays the role of an over the top bohemian girl who loves to break rules and disregard convention. It's hard to think of them as a romantic couple -- the awkwardness is almost visible when Katrina asks a somewhat dazed Imran to promise to kiss her everyday. Yet, somehow, the duo manage to pull it off in what turns out to be a light and breezy comedy where the traditional Bollywood love story turns untraditional and offbeat. But only partially....

It's an interesting debut by director Ali Abbas Zafar, yet ironically something seems to hold him back from creating a full blown comedy. The first half of the film, with the umpteen wedding preparations, gets too long drawn and the fun and games that Katrina tries to infuse in the proceedings seem a bit forced: example the completely unfunny scooter ride and the late night drunken sequence. The party begins with the arrival of Ali Zafar who takes time to warm up to the proceedings, but once he does, there's no holding him back. The actor had already displayed his flair for comedy in Tere Bin Laden. Once again, he showcases his spontaneity as the confused groom who suddenly realises he is still in love with his ex. For help, he turns to his brother once again and Imran Khan is more than willing to oblige, of course with Katrina's vivacious contribution.

It is the verve factor which works admirably for the film which doesn't have much to boast about in the story department. The film tries to remain high spirited throughout, both in terms of the narrative and the performances and mostly succeeds in keeping the smiles coming. The music by Sohail Sen has already become popular and comprises chartbusters like Madhubala and Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai amongst others. All in all, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan holds out a promise for a pleasant weekend viewing.

Salman Khan is doing fine, confirms Katrina Kaif

Katrina Kaif's and Salman Khan's relationship has occupied enough newspaper and magazine column inches in the past few years to launch an encyclopedia edition of its own.

And the fodder refuses to die down, what with Kaif herself confirming Khan is back in the pink of health after his eight-hour surgery in New Jersey, which saw the superstar struggle with the nerve disorder, Trigeminal Neuralgia.

She said: "Salman Khan is doing fine and he and I will start shooting together on September 11 for Kabir Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger". The schedule will go ahead as planned."

The actress dropped this nugget whilst in Abu Dhabi on September 7 for the world premiere of her film, "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan", which goes on general release across UAE cinemas today.

Kaif continued to sing praises about Abu Dhabi, saying that the city's phenomenal growth continues to amaze her; much like her meteoric career rise that continues to stun her critics.

"I have shot several of my earlier films in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, but the latter continues to be a second home to me," said the "Race" actress, who incidentally shot parts of that movie in our backyard.

The natural progression for her love affair with the city would be investing in a home here. Quiz her, and Kaif doesn't toss the idea out.

She said: "I am not averse to the idea of investing in a house here, but it's a bit too soon for me to make such plans. My career takes up the bulk of my time, but never say never."

Kaif is riding high this year with the success of her film, "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara", with early reports of her latest also painting her in positive light.

"I can't say if this is my year, but I will say that I have been lucky with my film choices and I do hope my upcoming films perform just as well," comes the diplomatic response.

Kaif's kitty offers up prestigious projects, including a triple whammy with production house Yash Raj Films, which will see the actress star in "Ek Tha Tiger" after "Mere Brother...", followed by the yet untitled film directed by head honcho Yash Chopra himself.

"I didn't set out to sign on only Yash Raj films, but sometimes things work that way and in this instance, Kabir Khan is someone who I worked with on "New York" and we became great friends. When he approached me with "Ek Tha Tiger", I couldn't say no.

"Salman and Kabir had their own equation, which is why he opted to do the film," she explained, despite us not asking Khan's motives behind accepting his first YRF production.

Kaif added: "The third film sees Mr Chopra return to direction after a seven-year hiatus and I simply jumped at the chance. Plus, I'm starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan, with whom I have never worked; so I am extremely excited by the project."

With one of India's top production houses signing her up for every big project, to a layman, Kaif certainly seems to have taken the lead in the Bollywood numbers game. But the actress doesn't want to be associated with competition.

"Who has time or the need to be bothered by numbers?" she counterasks. "I come to do a job and do it well; if I have some top films, so do other stars. I think all of us are secure in our own space."

So no need for added publicity or generating a buzz through social media platforms such as Twitter, which seems to be the norm these days with most Bollywood types?

"No, social media isn't for me," she confessed. "I don't need any added publicity and frankly, why take on something that I am not inclined to? Social media works for some, but I prefer to switch off with the camera."

Pretty Katrina is professional too!

Actor Katrina Kaif is a professional when it comes to her work. Mere Brother Ki Dulhan co-star Imran Khan and director Ali Abbas would second that. In a funny and quirky scene between Imran and Katrina, director Ali Abbas found something amiss. He decided to add a gun as a fun
and interesting element to the scene but while shooting, Imran accidentally hit the gun on Katrina's nose and her nose started bleeding.

Katrina was a very good sport about it all and continued shooting after she took a quick break in order to regain herself.

In this age of star tantrums and item number wars, such news comes as such a breath of fresh air. Here's wishing Kat good health and good luck. Keep up the good work, girl!

Hot finale with Kat, Imran and semi-nude men

As is the case with most fashion week finales, the one of VHIMW'11 too had spectators wait endlessly before the designer duo, Karan Johar and Varun Bahl, could weave their 'Mediterranean dream' on stage.

The trials and tribulations were soon put to rest once the much awaited finale commenced.

'Mediterranean Magic and Bollywood': A vision of 'Mediterranean chic'that the designer-duo wished to present was high on Bollywood with Imran Khan opening the show. Dressed in charcoal black jacket and a pair of white trousers, the enviable combination reflected spelled sensuality, luxury and high-class fashion.

Katrina and Kareena worry about Salman

One may be an ex-girlfriend, the other is a present co-star, but both Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor are concerned about friend/co-star Salman Khan

Bodyguard is making a lot of noise all over the country, with BO registers ringing up profits like mad, never mind that the critics are panning the film – but the hero is not here to experience the high. Salman Khan has left for the United States, to get his trigeminal neuralgia treated by experts. And his lady friends are a little sad about his absence, though they are understandably worried. Kareena has been left holding the baby that is Bodyguard for a while, and Katrina…well…we can never be sure what she is holding where Salman is concerned, but their friendship cannot be doubted. Kat has made her new project with Sallu top priority, refusing plum assignments to accommodate Ek Tha Tiger. We hear that these include Dhoom:3 with Aamir Khan and the gang, and Ayaan Mukherjee’s new one co-starring Ranbir Kapoor. And since the Yash Chopra film with Shahrukh Khan will happen only next year, Katrina has time to do her thing with Salman, whenever she is needed to. And the concern is obvious, the strain is showing, people say, since she is worrying so much about her man-friend that her face cannot show off the happy-fun mood that Mere Brother Ki Dulhan promotional activities need. Now that is friendship, no?
